Expert Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Brow Lifts in Indiana
A heavy and droopy brow area can cause hooding of the upper eyelids resulting in a sad or tired appearance. Depending upon the severity of the droop, there are effective non-surgical and surgical eyebrow lift techniques that may help to restore the brows and forehead to a more youthful position offering a brighter and refreshed eye and forehead area.
What Is An Endoscopic Eyebrow Lift
If your eyebrow droop is moderate-to-severe, then a brow lift (also called a forehead lift) is often the best option for surgical correction. In addition to raising the eyebrows for a more alert and youthful eye area, a brow lift also helps to smooth creases that develop across the forehead and soften frown lines that often appear high across the bridge of the nose and in between the brows.
The eyebrow lift procedure has dramatically improved over the years. Dr. Greg Chernoff is among an elite group of surgeons who use an endoscopic technique for eyebrow lifting. This technique allows Dr. Chernoff to make a tiny incision above the brows in the hairline. The incision is so small that once healed, it is barely visible. This technique is particularly helpful for men with receding hairlines and women who prefer no sign of cosmetic surgery.
Are You A Candidate For An Endoscopic Eyebrow Lift
A brow lift is an ideal procedure for healthy men and women who are looking to improve moderate-to-severe sagging and/or drooping of the eyebrow and eyelid. This surgery is performed in our outpatient surgery center and is often combined with other procedures.
How Is A Surgical Endosopic Eyebrow (forehead) Lift Performed?
Based on each patient’s specific anatomy and the severity of the brow droop, there are several eyebrow lift surgical techniques that may be employed to achieve the desired result. The most common procedure is called an endoscopic brow lift where Dr. Chernoff uses a small camera to perform the surgery with smaller incisions behind the hairline rather than traditional more invasive brow lift techniques.
The procedure known as an endoscopic or minimal incision forehead lift or brow lift repositions or lifts the eyebrows to soften and refresh a tired, sad, or angry appearance. The endoscopic technique allows the procedure to be performed in a minimally invasive manner using small incisions hidden behind the hairline. The incision is then enclosed meticulously to provide an “invisible scar,” in most patients. The plastic surgery procedure is a permanent solution to drooping brows and yields a long-lasting result.
Some patients can also achieve more facial enhancement with an upper and lower laser eyelid lift if they have excess eyelid skin, fat deposits, bags, or excess skin under the eye.
Preparing for Surgery
Prior to any surgical procedure, Dr. Chernoff recommends that all our patients read our “Patient Guide for Plastic Surgery”. The guide explains important points that all patients should think about as they are considering a surgical procedure.
What Is The Recovery Process For A Brow Lift?
The recovery process varies from person to person, but most of Dr. Chernoff’s patients are surprised that their pain is relatively minimal. Immediately after your brow lift, your forehead will be sore and there will be some bruising and swelling for a few days. Cold compresses can help minimize the swelling and reduce pain. Taking arnica prior to the procedure may help, and your preoperative nurse will explain Dr. Chernoff’s recommendations.
The first few days after eyebrow surgery, you will need to take it easy doing small tasks for short periods of time. Most of Dr. Chernoff’s patients return to work in 4-7 days, depending more upon bruising than on discomfort. After the procedure, you will wear a small bandage on your forehead for several days. You will have tiny incisions that heal inconspicuously. It may be a couple weeks before you can return to strenuous activities like running or lifting heavy weights. We follow up with you continuously after your eyebrow lift and our nursing team will monitor you carefully until you are healed.
What Results Can You Expect After Your Endoscopic Eyebrow Lift?
Dr. Chernoff has safely and effectively performed over 4,000 eyebrow lift procedures. He uses a combination of endoscopic and advanced surgical techniques to promote rapid healing and recovery. Dr. Chernoff’s main goal is to provide patients with natural results and no sign of a cosmetic procedure.
Is There A Non-Surgical Procedure For An Eyebrow Lift?
BOTOX Cosmetic can be injected into specific muscles that are responsible for raising the eyebrows. Relaxing the muscle helps open up the eye area and provide a well-rested, natural result lasting 3-6 months. This treatment works well for patients who have a mild brow droop. When the droop is moderate or severe, injecting BOTOX Cosmetic can actually make the droop worse. BOTOX Cosmetic is used to smooth and soften the horizontal forehead lines (worry lines) as well as the vertical lines between the eyebrows.
